පන්සලේ අතීතයෙන් බිදක්
ශ්‍රී ධර්මරක්ෂිතා රාමාය යනු 19 වන සියවස ආරම්භයේදී (1905) සුප්‍රසිද්ධ විද්වත් භික්ෂුවක් වන අහංගම විමලසාර නායක හිමි විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලද ගෝරකාන ග්‍රාමයේ ඇති පැරණිතම බෞද්ධ විහාරස්ථානයකි. පූජ්‍ය අහංගම විමලසරා නායක හිමිට පසුව ඔහුගේ ප්‍රධාන ශිෂ්‍යයා වන මතුරත ප්‍රේමරත්න හිමි විහාරයේ පරිපාලනය භාර ගත්තේය.
පූජ්‍ය මතුරට ප්‍රේමරත්න හිමිට පසුව ඔහුගේ ප්‍රධාන ශිෂ්‍යයා වන පූජ්‍ය කපුගම ධම්මින්ද හිමි පරිපාලනය භාර ගත්තේය. පූජ්‍ය කපුගම ධම්මින්ද නායක හිමිට පසුව, පූජ්‍ය කතලුව් සුමේධ හිමි පරිපාලනය භාර ගත්තේය. 2019 දී විහාරයේ විහාරාධිපති ලෙස පූජ්‍ය කතලුවේ සුමේධ හිමි පත් කරන ලදී. පූජ්‍ය වලන් සිරි සුමන නායක හිමි මේ වන විට ප්‍රධාන විහාරාධිකාරී තනතුර හොබවයි

Sri Dharmarakshitharamaya is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Gorakana village, started by the famous scholar monk Ahangama Wimalasara Nayaka Thera in the beginning of 19th Century (1905). After the Venerable Ahangama Wimalasara Nayaka thera, his chief pupil Mathurata Premarathna Nayake Thera took on the administration of the temple.
After the Venerable Mathurata Premarathna Nayaka thera, his chief pupil Venrable Kapugama Dhamminda Thera took on the administration of the temple.After the Venerable Kapugama Dhamminda Nayaka thera, Venrable Kathaluve Sumeddha Thera took on the administration of the temple. In 2019 Venrable Kathaluwe Sumeddha thera was appointed as Nayaka thera of the temple.
Venerable Walane Siri Sumana Nayaka Thero currently looks after the temple as Chief Administrative Thero.
